Phoenix Natural Willow Charcoal is a classic tool for artistic drawing, sketching and shading. Made from carbonised willow, it offers a soft, expressive stroke, ideal for working freely from the first compositional lines to more elaborate studies of light and volume.
Its texture lets you blend easily, create gradients, broad shadows and atmospheric effects on paper. It is also easy to erase and correct, which makes it an especially useful material for academic drawing, figure studies, landscape, blocking-in and observation practice.
Available in two formats —20 units of 4–5 mm and 12 units of 6–7 mm—, it adapts to different stroke needs. The finer thickness is practical for sketches and more controlled lines, while the thicker format lets you work masses, shadows and broader gestures.
