Lucía García. Conscious Brushstrokes

Lucía García. Conscious Brushstrokes

Spring has left us, and we say goodbye to Josune García. We are leaving northern Spain on a short trip towards the interior of the peninsula, to meet a painter full of color, light, and warmth, Lucía García Romero, an ideal representative of this summer that we have just begun. By the way, during these days of outings and getaways, pay close attention, because you might see her at artists' markets or painting fairs, giving personality to a stone that, until now, unlike Lucía, you hadn’t given the importance it really had.

Conscious Brushstrokes is the name of this brand full of color and emotion. Lucía is the creator and passionate artist behind it.

Nature, music, animals, and the bonds between people are my greatest source of inspiration, bathed with quotes that can awaken inspiration and hope. I have always been fascinated by the world of illustration, and from a very young age, I could spend hours reading illustrated stories and soaking in their colors.

Painting and everything that involved creating fascinated me, and it made time vanish. My mother saw that latent gift in me and helped me enhance it by enrolling me in painting classes for several years.

When I started with this dream 7 years ago, I began with that learned foundation, but what made the difference was the clarity and purpose that I felt for the first time towards the path I wanted to follow, turning any stone on the road into a potential diamond. Later, I trained in illustration in Madrid, although my essence is self-taught.

The name Pinceladas Conscientes is a nod to Mindfulness, a more present, attentive, and compassionate way of living that I try to cultivate in my day-to-day life, and whose essence I wish to be present in my work.

Today I feel fortunate to be able to live from my passion. As Confucius said, 'Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.' When you do things with love and put your whole soul into it, sometimes you are lucky enough to find yourself making a living from what you love, and far from being a bed of roses, something inside you says that you are exactly where you truly want to be, and that is priceless.

Like any artistic adventure, infinite possibilities constantly close and open. Today I find myself bringing to life different illustrations that are the basis of various items (light boxes, mugs, bags, notebooks, etc.) which I later sell through my online store and different physical stores.

Tomorrow I may find myself illustrating stories, or perhaps sharing my passion with other people. In any case, I know for certain that the enjoyment of the creative process and my desire to gently touch hearts will continue.
